Precious Little Abraham - Prayer Warriors Needed!!

I would like you to meet Abraham.   He is a precious 2 year old little boy who lives in Korah and is also living with a dangerous heart condition.  Besides this, Abraham has Down Syndrome, which brings numerous other conditions and risks that impact him on a daily basis.  Fortunately, his family is being sponsored through Hope for Korah and over these past few months, with God’s leading and the help of his amazing sponsor, P61 nurses Emily and Kayla, numbers of Great Hope Leaders and his beautiful and courageous mother, he has been daily & weekly, going back and forth between many hospitals, appointments and numerous testing to ascertain what his future may hold.  Without God’s intervention, it does not look good.

 ABRAHAM NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS!!

The crucial heart surgery Abraham needs is not available to such a young child in Ethiopia.  A viable option is to bring Abraham, and if possible his mother, to the U.S. on a short-term medical visa to have both the surgery and post-operative care.  Efforts are already being made by his sponsor, to find a hospital and heart surgeon in the U.S. who will perform this crucial surgery pro-bono and there are some surgeons and facilities that are seriously considering this request.

Please pray for God’s continued protection over Abraham’s health, for His guidance in every detail and His provision for healing.  We are so thankful to all those on the ground in Ethiopia who are enduring endless hours of waiting, being re-directed from one place to another and the patience, love and commitment they are pouring into this family.  Please pray for them, as they are in this with both feet and please pray for Yangoosey, his mother. She is a strong, gentle and wonderful woman who loves her son and is bravely raising her three children on her own.  Her complete awareness and understanding of all of Abraham’s health issues is a lot for her to take in and to grasp.  Your prayers for her strength and awareness of God’s presence in their lives are very much appreciated.
Yangoosey & Abraham - August 2011

If the doors for surgery in the U.S. open up, then in the days ahead there will be opportunities provided for those who would like to donate and help defer the costs involved in actively loving and providing for this little boy.  I will keep you posted and I am looking forward to reuniting with both Abraham and his mother in just a few weeks. I will be arriving in Korah on September 25th and will be keeping everyone updated on Abraham and other happenings, through the Hope for Korah Facebook page. Please be sure to check in or 'like' us, for updates!

"We have put our hope in the living God,
who is the Savior of all people,
and especially of those who believe."
