Today is the day - I'm on my way!!

“Trust in the Lord! Be brave and strong and trust the Lord.” Psalm 27:14

Those were the words that arrived in an email this morning… from someone who is completely unaware that today is the day, I am flying on my own to Africa.  God has been so generous and loving to me.   Since first stepping into Korah one year ago this month, He has opened door after door, allowing me to share the story of Korah and paving a way for me to return.  My husband Dave will be joining me in a week’s time.  Together we are so thankful to so many who have been stirred in their hearts for Korah and have donated to this trip.  Together we are carrying over 300 pounds of donations from clothing, eye glasses, shoes, baby blankets, 40 lbs. of formula and on and on.  In addition to this we will be able to purchase much, much more while we are there.  This truly has been a ‘Working together for Hope!’  THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

Please continue to pray for the healing of hearts, homes and lives in Korah.  For Dave and I to have wisdom and listening hearts to both God and the leaders of Korah, hearing their vision for their community and understanding how we can best support them while we are there and into the future.

For us personally, please pray that we do not become overwhelmed with how big the poverty is, but trust that God is BIGGER; taking one step at a time, knowing that what we are doing matters to the one He has put in front of us.  Lastly prayers for safety would be appreciated, not only for us, but for all of our family back home.

Stay tuned… more posts coming…. all the way from ETHIOPIA!

  2. Yay! Have a safe and productive trip! If you remember, our school community would love some photos of the crocs being given to the people in Korah. Thanks so much!

  3. You made it! Praise God; all the cheerleaders here back home are thinking of you, praying for you and excited to hear about the trip through your blogs.

Wow, three hundred pounds of blessings and cash to boot...may God multiply it all as he did for feeding the five thousand with 5 loaves and 2 fish!

Be strong and of good courage!

    Love from Joanne and John
