Do Justice, Love Fearlessly

This was the name of the conference we participated in this weekend.  What an encouragement to be challenged to stand up for justice, to come alongside others, to love without fear and in such perfect timing…. Only 16 days until we are on our way back to Ethiopia. We are very excited!

At the seminar, Dr. Kurt Ver Beek from the Association For a More Just Society shared “Grace is like water, it flows down and pools in the lowest places.” …the neediest places. When walking through the broken streets of Korah, I truly had a sense of this being true….

Dave and I are so humbled and appreciative of all of the love, support and prayer many have poured into Korah over these past weeks.  Today I met a wonderful group of ladies at “Helping Hand” in Abbotsford and they showered me with a bountiful supply of beautiful handmade clothing and underwear that they had carefully sewn themselves. The GEMS Girl’s Club and Frontiers Youth Group from New Life Church are also filling up a suitcase with supplies for Korah.  This upcoming trip is truly a “Working Together for Hope!” So many have responded as we have had opportunities to share the need in Korah and below are a few photos from our exhibit at the ‘Do Justice, Love Fearlessly” Conference.

If you would like to learn more about the needs in Korah and how you can make a difference, please read previous post Meeting Some of the Needs in Korah.

 “Working together for Hope.”

Loosening the chains of injustice & poverty in Korah, Ethiopia

and bringing Hope to those who live there.
Each one is important, they are not forgotten.

Isaiah 58:6-10 - loosening the chains of injustice, sharing food with the hungry, providing shelter and clothing, satisfying the needs of the oppressed… NOT turning away!

Then you will call and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and He will say; Here am I… Then your light will rise in the darkness and your night will become like the noonday.

  4. AS you pack to leave I want to share with you and yours the following two songs by one of my favorite Christian song writers today who has a huge passion for mercy, justice and Africa. Our family had the privilege of hearing Carolyn live at the International Justice Mission Global Prayer Gathering a almost two years ago in Washington DC. Here's hoping the words and passion inspire and give you much hope and comfort as you leave. Love how you integrated the conference to you blog....your display was amazing!...
